"This hotel is outdated in the best possible way— it feels like going to a rich relative's house in the 90s. Ornate and stylish, lots of character to the place. Tub also had jets, which was a great surprise. Room had a fireplace, but it was summer so they had the gas turned off. Water cooler in the lobby (very hot weather when we stayed, so this saved us), they pay for your parking in the King Street garage, room had a small window A/C unit but it got the job done very well. "We stayed for one night at the end of June. Absolutely zero complaints. Hotel is only 1 month old so everything is new. Room was spacious and quiet. Restuarant / pub on site was a bonus although we only used it for the free breakfast which was basic but good. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended and we will stay there again."

"The suite is old, and so may not appeal to everyone. It doesn't have AC so could be a hot box in summer, but there are plenty of fans and lots of open windows. There is lovely, tiny balcony off the kitchen, facing the back garden. I stayed for just one evening and was quite comfortable. The place suited me perfectly. "The bathtub in our room tap was broken. You either had to have a burning hot water shower or a frigid cold which I did. My husband is a plumber and he couldn’t fix it for me, room 108. Don’t let anyone use the room until it’s fixed."

"The hotel is located by the lake in the centre of the town. Is the service attitude good, but its facilities are slightly better than those of a motel. I wonder why it is classified under IHG on the website."
