Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Good continental breakfast. Fresh fruit and juice available as well as a large selection of tea which included a very good english breakfast tea. At the end of breakfast service they offered us a paper bag to take some pastries from the breakfast bar to eat throughout the day.
The rooms are clean and tidy with plenty of space. Late check-out on a sunday is great however you do have to ask for the lazy Sunday check-out. IGH members also get an extra hour on check-out day which is a big bonus. "
"We stayed for 3 nights at this Xo blue square hotel. Location was great. Close to public transport and restaurants and shops. There's also a big market next to it. One stop from Sloterdijk Central Station by bus and trams. Check in was smooth as they offer electronic machines so you can check yourself in. They also keep your luggage for free. We arrived early than check in time so they kept our luggage. Our room was nice and clean and decent size. Toilet was clean with air dryer, towels and toiletries provided. Staff was wonderful. But I have to say that on one occasion, the cleaners left shoes marks in the toilet. The tissue also wasn't replenished so we had to ask them at the reception. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. Would recommend this to family and friends."
"We stayed here for 4 nights, we were welcomed with a very friendly manner.
Our Room wasn’t quite ready, due from us being slightly early for check in.
We were able to leave our suitcases so we could go out & explore Zaandam.
The hotel was in an excellent location, a few minutes walk up to the train station, there was an escalator & a lift to the top. The train station was good, great clear screens so you could see what platforms you needed, a 15 minute transfer on the sprinter train to the city central. We arrived by train from Schiphol airport which was so easy to do the transfer took around 18 minutes, a great way to travel around, very easy, reliable & very reasonable, we used it every day we were there.
We didn’t have any food at the hotel as we are not breakfast people, we ate out when we were out exploring so no food was required!
We did use the bar for a relaxing drink on return from our busy days out.
Staff were very pleasant, and a lovely relaxing atmosphere in comfortable chairs.
Our room was lovely, A very comfy queen size bed, great pillows. We slept so well. A fantastic bathroom with a walk in shower which was very powerful.
A safe & coffee machine, we used this for an instant coffees which I took with me.
I Would highly recommend this hotel."
"I would absolutely recommend and stay here again! The property is on the water with a beautiful view. The room was exactly as pictured. I felt so comfortable and at home. The staff is friendly and professional. The added bike rental helped make the trip enjoyable! "
"This hotel was so nice! It was super unique with its design, and we loved it for this reason. There was everything we needed in the room. I couldn’t figure out the electricity — you have to put the room key in a slot to get power! I’m sure they said this as I checked in with all of my jetlag LOL.
The one thing that was super confusing was how to get from the train station to the hotel. The hotel staff was helpful when I called. There is an elevator on the street but it is frequently down. What is important to know is that a little further up the street, you can use the elevator in Primark which will take you down to the street level (there is a street above a street)…. and then cross the bridge. Or, there is an elevator near Dreamland, which can also help get you to the right level.
The pool and sauna…. amazing. Beautiful… just so nice! It was nice and warm (not too warm) and had a really nice ambience. The sauna was very clean and was nice.
I wish we would have stayed for 2 nights. This was a really, really nice place to stay, and so unique. "
"Good breakfast, friendly staff, and excellent location within a few minutes of walk from the Amsterdam Sloterdijk train station and the JUMBO Supermarket. Very easy to get to Amsterdam Centraal and the airport."
