This Walloon city looks like it came straight out of a fairy tale thanks to its castle, magical alleyways and beautiful nature. Don't miss this breathtaking part of Belgium!

Durbuy's beautiful nature, cultural history and friendly atmosphere are simply amazing. Spend a romantic weekend with your partner or an adventurous holiday with the whole family.

Durbuy is a modest village that was granted town privileges at the beginning of the 14th century. There are still traces of its mediaeval past such as the picturesque alleyways in the city centre and the majestic Château de Durbuy on the river Ourthe.

The best way to explore Durbuy is to take the touristic train which will take you past a lot of the sights such as the Belvédère observation tower and the extravagant Parc des Topiaires. If you're visiting the village with the kids during the summer holidays, the nearby Labyrinthe de Barvaux is a must. Get lost in a labyrinth of maize and have fun finding your way out!

If you're a history buff, a trip to Wéris is a must. The village is famous for its megaliths and dolmens. Take photos of them and study this extraordinary phenomenon!

Thanks to its location in the Ardennes, Durbuy offers a lot of outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, abseiling and horse riding. You can explore the area by car or bicycle. The area actually lends itself to day trips by bicycle.

The easiest way to get to Durbuy is by car. Take the car train from Folkestone or the ferry from Dover.

Durbuy is a 3.5 hour drive from Calais. If you're already in the Netherlands or Belgium and are not travelling by car you can always hire one and visit the more remote places. Durbuy is difficult, but not impossible, to reach by public transport.

Durbuy is a great place for a relaxed or even adventurous weekend away.
