"Beautiful surroundings and very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant setting was good with lovely fireplace, but food was average for its price and no wine menu to speak of, just house red or white, no sherry/ports or dom pedros. Breakfast was lovely. Some firewood was provided free of charge, but not enough to keep the room warm all night, so had to pay R35 for extra firewood. One nice feature of the rooms was electric blankets on both sides of the bed, but the modern shower and toilet...

"The location of the hotel is good. The stairs down the the rooms is built for somebody with long legs and the ramp - not sure if that is for a wheel chair which I will never use. The restaurant is very over priced and its really not great food. The food at Mrs Simpson is WAY better. The fire place, having a vent right on top, the room was always smelling of smoke. Rooms do all need a little TLC. Staff is very friendly and helpful."

"A Perfect Escape at Valley of the Rainbow Our stay at Valley of the Rainbow was absolutely fantastic! While there was no cellphone signal or WiFi at the chalet, it was a welcome break from technology—exactly what we needed to truly unwind. The setting was peaceful and breathtaking, making it the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature.
