This isn’t a 5* property. They’re a 4* at best. This ranges from service to rooms, meal service and the way the hotel presents itself. We arrived very early Sunday morning (8am) following a night flight from STN. I had emailed ahead and made a request for an early check in. I have three very young children and they were exhausted. I was advised this would be on a discretionary basis, depending on occupancy. Upon arrival, I was notified that I’ll have to wait as my alleged room wasn’t ready. I would get a call as soon as the room would be ready. I got a call around 130pm, so I went back to reception to get my key.
The team behind reception told they meant to “ring someone else”. Not a great start.
Finally, around 245pm (check in commences at 3pm), I was told my room was ready. Great stuff!
Headed to the room and I was pleasantly surprised how big the 2-bedroom apartment was. Absolutely massive. Once we got settled in, I started noticing all the lack of attention that had been paid to the room during the turnover. Fixtures and fittings were missing/broken, a lot of wear and tear on the cabinets and I also noticed that bulbs were out in certain lights. Shocking for. 5*.
2 days before our departure to the U.K. We came back after a day in the pool to find a whole case of water on our kitchen worktop. I was stumped! I had been buying water assuming that this 5* resort doesn’t provide basic amenities like water in the room.
Overall, not a 5* - keep on looking!!
