"A magical castle stay with stunning grounds, rich history, and wonderful hospitality! We absolutely loved our stay at the Abbey Hotel! From the moment we arrived, check-in was seamless and the receptionist was delightfully welcoming. Staying here truly feels like staying in a castle. The grounds are meticulously landscaped and beyond stunning, and having the evocative ruins of the original abbey right behind the property adds so much character. The location is peaceful and relaxing while still being convenient to local highlights. We took a quick three-minute drive over to Roscommon Castle before dinner, which was open, easily accessible, and wonderful to explore. For dinner, we headed into town to Reganโs Gastro Pub, which was fantastic. The staff were chatty, warm, and attentive, and the meal was delicious. Our room was very spacious with two queen beds, and we all had a great night's sleep. Breakfast the next morning was top-notch, featuring all the traditional Irish breakfast favorites along with eggs made to order. Eating in the gorgeous dining room overlooking the vibrant flower gardens was a highlight in itself. We will definitely be recommending the Abbey Hotel to all our family and friends, and we canโt wait to return on our next visit to Ireland!"
