Hotels in Downtown Isle of Palms, Isle of Palms

"This historic hotel is charming and comfortable. The front desk staff was fine although the girl working alone upon our arrival didn't give us much of a welcome or even attempt to get us into our room an hour early but the housekeeping staff went so far beyond that and totally made up for it. Both arriving and leaving they greeted us in the hall, asked if they could answer anything when we arrived and if we enjoyed our stay. Even checked in personally while we were there. We stayed in the Harbor View Suite which was impeccably clean and comfortable. Room service for breakfast was fast and delivered hot even during what may be there busiest time the morning of the Cooper River Bridge Run. Even though the front desk staff was underwhelming, I would return here in a heartbeat. "

"The property is very dated and dingy. The pool area is nice, but while the property indicates it’s only for guests and day-pass purchasers, the hotel does not monitor this, so anyone can come and use the pool. It’s very clear that this is widely known, and the pool area is overrun with partiers. For the nightly rate, I’d recommend staying just about anywhere else in downtown Charleston. "

"The resort is just what you would hope for as a luxury resort and I would definitely stay there again next time I am in the area. The condition of the three rooms my family had, given it is not a brand new resort, were excellent and our harbor view rooms had spectacular views of the marina and harbor. As you enter the main doors to the reception hall area you are greeted with incredibly beautiful decor and friendly staff. The outdoor areas facing the pool/harbor are equally as beautiful and luxurious. I did have a few questions/issues about the A/C controller, light switches (there is a master switch that should be labeled), slider door to the balcony, hot water availability in my room but with a call to the front desk each time, someone was dispatched immediately to answer/resolve my concerns/questions. My one (negative) surprise was that there is not a restaurant (for breakfast) in the building itself...however, the Fish House restaurant next door has a nice buffet breakfast that we enjoyed two of our three mornings. The restaurant is in the same resort complex, one building over. "

"Breakfast (buffet) was disapointing. Great location for hotel, rooms were super cute. Surprisingly didn't find the staff to be very friendly. Not sure what is the point of the $45 resort charge, there were not alot of extra ammenities to warent that. Location is the best feature. Pool and view are great"
