"What an amazing place! We loved everything about our stay; the woderful staff, the delicious food, our beautiful room, the pools, the views, and even those mischievous monkeys. This boutigue hotel is a true gem."
"We had a really good stay at Weligama Bay Marriott. Our stay really raised the bar for our future hotel experiences.
The ocean view from the room was breathtaking, and there was very easy beach access for swimming and surfing.
The hotel staff was really good and helpful as well, including the front desk staff, our concierge Nuwani, Kids Club supervisors Rashmi and Wishmi, as well as all the staff at the Weligama Kitchen whose names we couldn't catch.
Weligama Kitchen - The breakfast buffet included a variety of cuisine, everything was fresh and delicious compared to many places we have been in and beyond Sri Lanka. Everything was clean, and the service was impeccable.
Kids Club - Staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the space was well managed and very clean. The activities for the kids were age appropriate, and there was a variety of activities and a good selection of toys to keep the kids happy and occupied.
Pools - Well maintained and clean, we had no reservations about taking our kids there and having a good time. Related amenities like showers, public bathrooms, towel service were all very reliable.
Overall, a great place for families with little kids. Would certainly visit again. Thanks to everyone at the Marriott who helped make our stay a memorable one."
"Fantastic stay, it was perfect for our escape to come and work remotely.
Wonderful food, very comfy big bed, co working space is brilliant with comfy chairs, right on the beach, but the staff are the kindest and make it a wonderful place. Massive thanks to Ronald and Akif who went above and beyond! 💗"
"Our room was on the third floor with an amazing view over Mirrisa beach. The hotel is up a steep slope with quite a few steps and no lift. I loved the hotel design features with interesting lighting and features of older buildings.
Breakfast is a la carte but with plenty of fruit, 1 slice toast 1 cake and a choice of hot food eg omelette.
The pool is lovely but there are a limited number of beds.
It is a 5 minute walk to the beach with plenty of restaurants, bars and sun loungers.
Unfortunately there is a building being built right in front of the hotel blocking the sea view for the lower floors and the restaurant. This was quite noisy and drilling did disturb the peace. It's not clear how high this will end up but if you want a sea view from your room choose the highest floor. "
"We were given an upgrade...very thankful for the huge room. Great air conditioning unit..plus fans. Staff were all happy and helpful. A special thank you to Isuru from the Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. He helped me choose the right Sri Lankan option at breakfast...it was fantastic and a lot of food...all superbly cooked by the chefs. Pool on the Rooftop with Spectacular views of the Hiriketiya Beach. Also to watch the daily antics of the local monkeys. Location 100mtrs to the beach. Lots of dining options in the area."
"I was very unhappy with this accommodation, which we paid £200 per night. On arrival the hotel staff and checking was very nice, our room was on the fourth floor via the lift and very, very steep stairs to the room. The bathroom was awful totally open to the outside world view with plastic curtain which kept blowing around in the wind, when you were trying to take a shower. This wasn't shown in photo's on your website or mention in the description to this room.
Also no desk in the room, or balony table and chairs. However, we complained about our dissatisfaction on the first day, On Monday we had enough and decided to leave with despair of paying £200 per a night, for a terrible room. We didnt even want to have their breakfast, worried that we would be disappointed with that as well.
The Manager said he would refunded us for the full cost, but there wasnt anything in writing."
"This hotel has an amazing spot on the beach. The only drawback was the lack of a view from our room. The room was large and comfortable and the staff were delightful. Despite the lack of light/view in the room it does offer a number of beach facing seating areas and a fantastic breakfast "
