"We had a wonderful time during our 11 day stay. The staff is phenomenal, so attentive, professional and helpful. We stayed in the Oak Suite and would highly recommend to everyone. The Juliet balcony and private deck was perfect for morning and evening relaxation. The boat cruise was just steps from the Lodge and hiking along the Wye was an easy walk where you could see the rapids and kayaks working hard. Kudos to the staff and management for an awesome experience."

"Only reason I didn’t give this lovely quaint place 5* was I found the lady on reception when we arrived ahead a bit “curt” no hello how can I help you, just told us check in isn’t until 3 o’clock so to come back then, the next lady was lovely btw. I also don’t know if we timed it wrong but breakfast was a little chaotic, the only table we could find that hadn’t been cleared wasn't set up for breakfast so we had to request milk, butter, napkins, spoons…but the servers were lovely and accommodating plus this place has a great location and the rooms are impeccable!"

"Great location, lovely staff, comfy bed. Room and furnishings all looking pretty tired and like they could do with an update, and what looked like mould on the bathroom ceiling presumably due to the lack of ventilation there. Breakfast was fairly average. Would stay again but best not to have particularly high expectations."

"Our room (deluxe double) was nice but incredibly hot, as was the weather. It’s an old building & suffers in the heat. Breakfast was very average. We had to ask for croissants. It was apparently first come first served on the buffet table which seemed a bit bizarre. A request to have hollandaise on the side of my eggs Benedict was ignored. Dinner was ok. Staff were helpful. Reception staff get many gold stars for being so helpful & kind re items I carelessly left in the room. Efficient & scrupulously honest. Thankyou. 😊😊😊"

Royal Hotel Ross On Wye by Greene King Inns

10/10 Excellent

"My family stayed in 2 superior rooms for one night. There is no lift so luggage has to be carried up the stairs. Room 14 was on the first floor and huge, room 30 was on the second floor and slightly smaller. The shower was over the bathtub with a curtain. The staff in the restaurant and elsewhere were excellent and we enjoyed the food (bearing in mind this is a Greene King, not a Michelin starred restaurant :). There are lovely views from the patio where you can have a drink from the bar. For the price, we were very happy with our stay and would certainly recommend the hotel to others."
