"Front desk person did not speak English very well"

"Bed bugs. Visible blood spots and “black specs” on bedclothes. Floors were oddly very slippery. Wiped a small area with a wet paper towel and it came up black. Entire place in disrepair. It was so bad that, at 10pm, after driving over 7 hours, we demanded a refund and left for another hotel. At first I was told that I couldn’t get a refund until the manager showed up in the morning. I wanted to add another name to the reservation in case someone else in our party arrived before we did, but I couldn’t reach the actual hotel by calling the number supplied, it was just an AI that kept hanging up on me because it couldn’t process my request. "We decided to break up our long trip home and stayed at the Bolling Wilson hotel the night of July 4th and it was a wonderful experience! The hotel is in the heart of downtown Wytheville and Main Street was closed for a street fair, literally right out the front door. There was an awesome fireworks display that night which we were able to watch from the rooftop bar. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and clean. The only thing not rating 5 stars would be...

"The room was clean, but the air conditioner shut off in the middle of the night and the room got warm. The front desk reception did not tell us what time the continental breakfast opened. When we went to the breakfast in the lobby at 6:25 am....nothing was made or even out....not even hit water for tea. Disappointed."
