"Nowhere on their website did they mention the lake had no water. They were also doing repairs so the walls had exposed wires. The bathrooms are reminiscent of a hospital bathroom. The rooms are poorly lit with no tv. Lots of history in the buildings just very dated rooms. The breakfast was really great."

"We had high expectations for this resort and spa. The reality is that it is so massively overpriced for what it is. To start, they don’t tell you, but they don’t work well with Expedia. There is no front desk, so you get a message with room number and code. Except that is not your actual room number. When our code didn’t work, we called the number in the listing and they said since we were Expedia, they just wait for us to call to get a room number. Then they gave us the “upgrade” to the top...

"Amazing views, great breakfast, comfortable room and bed, with lots of space and room for family games or other activities. Really close to beautiful views at Jump off rock. Be sure to arrive to see the sunset at Jump off rock. AC rattled a little in the Royal Room."

"They are trying to renovate an old Victorian house, but really do not seem to have any experience with hotels or B&B's. The room we had was painted poorly with messy paint lines at the trim and paint drips on the floor. The caulking in the shower was comically bad. The shower was quite small. We waiting several minutes for the hot water in the shower and eventually took two back to back cold showers . There was no table or dresser to put our stuff on, so we had everything on the floor. "Excellent staff. Caring and helpful. Clean! Nice breakfast. Spacious king size bedroom. Only issue was the single elevator failed and climbing 3 stories was no fun at all. Fortunately it failed one day ago and not at the start of our weeklong stay."

Food at the restaurant was below average. Many food items were not available. Prices are very high for what you get . Understaffed. Mosquitoes were all in the pool bathroom and sauna areas. "Staff was excellent. We really enjoyed the boat tour of the lake. Rooms were large and comfortable. A great night's sleep. We really enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and watching the boats come and go. The decor is a bit dated. I believe they said the lakeside rooms were due to be updated in the next year. Restaurant was just so-so. We'd recc. going out to Grand Olde Station for a meal. Overall, a great stay. We plan to go back in the future."
