Genting Hotel & Spa at Resorts World Birmingham

"The Genting was always a favourite stopover when traveling through England as it breaks up the trip from London to Yorkshire. The hotel is still quite nice compared to others in the area but doesn’t seem to have been maintained to the high standards it once was. The spa experience was still great, however the outdoor spa was not working and I had to share the pool experience with the cleaning crew at 7am. The building that it shares has some challenges with managing the smell from the bins and as such the hotel had to pump quite a bit of perfume into the air of the lobby to mask the smell."

"Book a night at village hotel walsall staff member booked us in took so long thought we was sleeping at reception got to room and no milk or coffee then put tv on and could not get any signal and couldn't even watch anything when I mentioned this Sunday 31st may 2026 was told they would get maintenance on it Monday so it's repaired Mr s baddeley"

"The staff were extremely helpful. I can't remember there names but my glasses broke when I was there and I can't see without my glasses I needed a temporary fix to get me home. I spoke to Reception to ask for a bit of sellotape or glue and she called the maintenance guy who patched then up til I got home. I thanked them when checking out and Manager was a lovely lady who showed us a easier route to sealife as my mum has difficulties in walking. It was a lovely hotel, good location and we definitely return soon."

The Grand Hotel Birmingham

"I recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Birmingham with a party booking three rooms. Overall, the hotel is clean, tidy, well-maintained, and feels very fresh. Check-in was quick and efficient. We initially stayed in Grand Double Rooms on the second floor, which were modern, clean, and offered plenty of space, along with a spotless and fresh bathroom. The hotel bar is also a lovely, relaxing space with friendly and highly efficient staff, though prices are on the higher side, it would be a classy touch if they offered complimentary nuts or snacks with drinks. Unfortunately, our first evening was severely disrupted. There was a function on, and the bass was so intense that the rooms on the second floor were literally bouncing, making sleep impossible. When I complained to reception, the staff initially seemed reluctant to help. However, after I explaining that I was travelling with someone recovering from a stroke who had gone to bed at 18:30 and was unable to sleep, they took action. They moved two of our three rooms up to Grand Deluxe Double Rooms on the fifth floor. These rooms were fantastic very large, spacious, clean, and quiet enough for us to finally get some sleep. The music continued into the early hours. It was highly disappointing that despite requesting that the duty manager contact me, they didn't bother to do so."

"Stayed there with friends for a concert and it was perfect for us, rooms are small but its just somewhere to sleep so it was absolutely fine! The staff were very helpful! Cheap as chips for 2 rooms less than 60 quid between 5 of us!! And a tenner for parking overnight! Can't go wrong, if we are ever going to Birmingham again this is where we will be staying! Oh and only a short walk to China Town and gay village which we loved!!!"

"We stayed here for a couple of nights while my partner visited the convention at the nec. We had lovely weather but unfortunately the hotel is quite dated and has no air conditioning in the rooms. Some hotels that don’t have air conditioning do put fans/heaters in the rooms but no fans were provided during the hot weather at this hotel. We also found the air vent in our bathroom had not been cleaned in some time as it was thick with dust and so stopping the vent from working making the vent useless. This is a handy hotel for the nec only about a 15 minute walk away and the lady on reception when we checked out was very friendly. But be warned it is a dated hotel. "

Village Hotel Birmingham Dudley

6/10 Okay

"On check in there is no lift it’s broken !! So one lift for a large 2 story hotel !!!! Seems a bit odd we were however shown to the staff lift now the staff parts of the hotel inc the lift are pretty awful worn and dirty. So the rooms are ok however no aircon in rooms so even a mild temp day and the rooms are oppressively hot yes you have 2 fans but don’t really help. No fridge in the room so drinks go warm quickly the windows are double glazed but outside noise especially loud music in the morning means have to shut them. The bar reception area on the night of the euro final was packed,kids and food everywhere as we passed thru on the way out and on the way back kids food and disgruntled drunk football fans to fight thru on the way to the stairs as the lift was out for 3 days this was a return visit but the hotel whilst not being really bad is not modern and probably past its best ,plus points ,staff are nice n helpful rooms clean Starbucks in the lobby no issues parking the car but needs modernising AC and who builds a hotel with one lift !!! It’s bound to fail at some point"
