"We first stayed at this hotel in 1986 and gave re-visited several times since. The location is fantastic right in the centre and beside the public car park and lift up to the chateau. The hotel has been renovated and extended over the years and is now even has a roof terrace for chilling out in after a days touring/cycling. "Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. "Property is well positioned close the river. Staff friendly and helpful. They welcome dogs, which is what attracted us in first place. Lovely walk along the river. Big car park opposite. Good restaurant with excellent food."

"The reception was outstanding. We arrived early and were made to feel most welcome. The room is large, modern and lovely. Everything is first class, bedding, towels , etc. Breakfast was great and plenty of options. The hotel is a pleasant short walk from the old town centre. Parking is very limited but not an issue. There always seems to be free street parking right outside the hotel. A lovely stay all round."

"Accueil très sympathique du propriétaire. hôtel très bien tenu et sécurisé. Chambre bien agencée et confortable. très bonne literie. Petits déjeuners copieux avec des produits maison. Hôtel idéalement situé pour visiter cette belle région , Abbaye de Frontevaud , Chinon, et tant d'autres lieux. un très bon 2 étoiles. Je recommande. "

"Everything was lovely. The bathroom was a little old and didn’t have a shower curtain so the floor got very wet. But it was a lovely stay. The room also had a bit of an overpowering smell of artificial cherry’s/berries which is fine. But just a little over powering with an artificial smell. But the room was very clean and if I was in the area I would stay here again! "

"Sehr schön renovierte Zimmer und ein freundliches, engagiertes Besitzerpaar. Absolut zu empfehlen-wir waren vier Nächte da. Gut geeignet um Saumur und Umgebung zu erkunden. Liegt an einem Rond Point, Dr aber nicht stark frequentiert ist. "
