"The staff was the big difference, from the desk staff to maintenance to folks at the bar, all went out or their way to make out stay memorable. Plenty of places to eat in the area, was able to get our snorkeling excursion right out the back door and even got a massage on the beach."

"Tasteful rooms with very comfortable beds. Our room opened onto the pool area that was spotless.
Best part of this resort is the restaurant and bar.
Food is really good and the bar tender James is wonderful , he is very funny and makes your stay fun!
All the staff were excellent and helpful."

"We loved our stay at umaya. The beach is awesome. The whole pool area/chairs/dock and set up are awesome too. So great that you can also borrow Kayaks and paddle boards (which we did) to have morning paddles when the ocean is calmer. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff helpful and accommodating and the food at the hotel was good as well. There are also many restaurants and a supermarket (10 min drive) close to umaya without having to always make the drive...
