"The pool area is quite narrow. To make things worse, smoking was allowed anywhere. It could also be no one was enforcing no smoking at the poolside. I was with my kids and we have to keep moving to different parts of the pool to avoid 2nd hand smokes."

"Visited Grand Mercure in 2026, after the refurbishing. The landscaping works at the entrance is still being upgraded, and the entire hotel looks brand new. The team of staff were all efficient and warm, from the reception, concierge, to the Ambrosia Restaurant. They have a convenient shuttle to the mall, with a brand new van. The kueh lapis and grilled sausages at the breakfast buffet were delicious, and the chefs did the grilling on the spot. Will be keen to try the Sup Buntut next time...

"Had a short stay in Ayola hence did not try out the spa. The room I had was a twin bedded and condition of the room was fine, except that there's no hairdryer in the room. The toilet had a bad sewage smell which fortunately for me, I had some lemongrass essential oil with me, which I had literally poured into the drainage and it helps, had to do daily for the 2 nights. Didn't use the swimming pool but heard from one of the house guest, that the pool needs cleaning. The Restaurant staff are...

"Hotel is generally an old hotel but maintained well . Breakfast was good . Staff are very friendly and helpful . Even the secuity lady at the entrance was so friendly. I enjoyed the stay , the hospitality was fantastic ."

"Despite being a hotel that is quite old, we appreciate that the room was renovated to a modern look and we like the beddings and stuff. However the bathroom was a let down because sewage odour kept escaping through the floor traps. To cover the smell, the housekeeping use urinal mat, commonly used in public men's toilet urinals, as deodoriser, making not only the bathroom but the whole room (in fact the whole floor) to smell like public toilet."

"The room was really dirty, from Toilet,Window , wardrobe and the interior,, it worse than 1 star Hotel. The pool was full of Non-Hotel resident, heard from them they just be there for swimming leason, the pools water was dirty and no towel provided for hotel-Resident. The Lobby, there were no Aircon as well and the restaurant where we had breakfast the menu was limited and very hot as well, it seems the Aircon was not opened Lastly I felt no-safe, the lift can be access by anyone, no need card...
