"I stayed here with my daughter. We had afternoon tea. Nails done at the spa. Our room was lovely. We used the leisure facilities. Breakfast was brilliant so much selection. Highly recommend"

"Staff was not friendly and offered no explanations regarding breakfast or which rooms on the main floor were open for guest use. Since it is INCREDIBLY difficult to get to and there’s no towns nearby, we had no options but to eat dinner there. The food was good but this definitely brought up our overall costs. Our stay was okay but given that it was by far our most expensive stay of our Scotland trip, I can’t say I’d recommend it. P "

"We were only staying one night and I wasn't going to review as we got in late and left early but I wanted people to know what to expect. The sheets are clean and the beds were comfy but there are dubious stains all over including the walls. The decor is very tired and some of the furnishings look like recycled things from the 60s. As for cleanliness there is mould on the bottom of the provided shower gel containers, the underneath of the sink was filthy."

"The place is picturesque and it could be so much more if they put effort in. The bed was comfortable but not the pull out bed. The breakfast was ok, staff was very limited sometimes you were waiting half HR for a seat when really there were not that many guests. The pool had some work done and the saw dust was sitting on the side for two days. Shame as it a lovely building."

"Lovely staff, very friendly. Room was far too hot and air con only blew out hot hair despite being on the cold setting. We were on the lower ground floor so we couldn’t open our windows properly without having the curtains open which meant people walking down the side street could see directly in to our room. One of the windows was locked too. Bar closed early and would only serve bottled wine or beer. "

"Really lovely locally owned and run hotel. Our kingsize upgraded room was stunning, and massive. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The homemade shortbread in the room was incredible, and they even refilled it when we scoffed it all! Breakfast was tasty, and the hot food was made to order.
