"We stayed 2 nights in the ‘deluxe’ double room No 4 directly behind reception. The self check-in process was very easy to use. I suspect like everyone else we were there to do the Alpine Crossing. So in that context it suited us fine, only a few minutes drive to the pickup point. The room was en-suite, the shower was okay once it warmed up and it had a decent TV with a range of channels. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall very good value."

"Good location, especially for the Teranaki Falls walk, but also for Tongoriro Crossing (20 minutes drive to the trail head). The staff was friendly. The room was clean and as-described. The property is a little old/dated. Also, the hot tub is only available 3pm to 8pm and you need to reserve a 30-minute slot (on the plus side you get the hot tub to yourself for the 30 minute slot, and the clean it fully every day). "

"Everything was ok and Plateau Lodge is one of the best we have stayed for our hiking trips. The only little problem is just photo displayed when I booked. It shows a nice outdoor bath tub, so I expected the room I booked looks like this. However, that is indeed for another room type."

"The only thing i would change would be the cleanliness of the kitchen . I would give the kitchen a 1&half star for that. It did have lots of utensils and pots and pans ect . If i didn't need to us the kitchen i would stay again "

"I was disappointed there were no plates or cutlery in the room, but I guess that I got what I paid for. The heater was OK on the first day, but it wouldn’t operate on the second day. Otherwise the room was fine and the shower was great. "

"Lovely place for an overnight stay. Love how you pretty much have your own house which is nice and cosy. Great location and awesome having mini golf, the pool and spa. Such a great price for what you get."

"The cabin was fantastic, very clean and tidy - most of all very, very quiet. The attention from the female caretaker was outstanding, she made sure everything was to our satisfaction, all in all a great stay. Would recommend to anyone to stay there."

"Despite an unprepossessing exterior, the unit was wood panelled inside, and was cosy. The living area was large and it was quiet, being located away from the main road. The stairs to the bedrooms were a bit narrow and creaky, but we had a comfortable sleep. Enjoyed our stay."
