"Our room had a leak from the upstairs unit over our unit over the toilet. My husband is a plumber and he knew it was a leak from the toilet upstairs and it was from dirty toilet water cause it leaked whenever they used the toilet. We were unable to move rooms as the hotel was booked. There was nothing they could do. They said they could look into a credit however when I attempted to talk to them again they didn't help. The continental breakfast was non existent. Try to talk to the desk assistant in the morning and no one was there. Finally left after a 10 minute wait. Am very unhappy with my stay and will not recommend another Econo Lodge."
"Booked thru Expedia at right under $200/2 nights. Check-in-went very smooth. The first room was dirty & this type of neglect is on purpose; to allow anyone but a cleaner to enter it, was offensive. There were spiders in the bathtub, questionable stains on pillow cases, walls, and curtains, dirt/dust gathered throughout. The beds were very much soiled, can’t remember if they had mattress covers. Very nice bedside lights, with addtl light for night reading (good idea), if you could muster the guts to sleep in the room. The FD staff did switch our room and apologized. The 2nd room was better; however, curtains were tattered and not hanging properly, window didn’t lock (ground floor), water pressure seemed low but could be that a new shower head is needed? The floor in the bathroom was also very dirt, beyond needing hot water/soap/bleach. I covered it with towels. They have these long mirrors that would be nice if they were cleaned properly. The beds were actually comfortable. The air/heat did work. TV, microwave, and fridge worked but freezer needs to be defrosted, so wasn’t able to use it. The breakfast was fair: waffles, bagels, muffins, sausage gravy and biscuits, sausages, potatoes (not all on same day but was hot and had flavor when served), coffee, juices. My late check-out request was extended 30 addtl minutes without issues/charge. Would I stay again? No, ONLY bc rooms are dirty, staff seemed professional/pleasant, bed comfortable, food fair, parking lot acceptable"
"Very cool place to stay. Huge room, plenty of space, and actual, comfortable furniture so we didn't have to debate "who gets to sit in the one desk chair in the room" which is often the case with hotel rooms. Huge windows, plenty of natural lighting, and so many beautiful antiques throughout the hotel to admire. The helpful, friendly staff just made it even better."
"It wasn’t vey clean and the toilet moved and the table was too jiggly to eat at it was like we had a staged room . Looked nice on Tyne surface but don’t look too close and be careful how u move ."
"At 86 years old, I know one does not always get what they pay for. This Hotel was one time I felt we received more than we paid for. Can not remember when staff went out of the way to accommodate us. It is a very clean Hotel and complete bedding was all new. Will use again if in the Dewitt, Ia. area."
"We chose this place as a last minute one night stay. That being the case it was OK. It had almost equal points on the OK and Good side.
On the good side, our room looked to be recently renovated. The paint, fixtures, bed, etc all seemed to have been done recently. There were however a few things that were missing, There was an ironing board but no iron, no hair dryer though it was mentioned as an amenity, and a light bulb was missing from the vanity light fixture.
Check in was disappointing. We use Expedia almost exclusively for our travel stays. It has always been friendly professional and efficient. We had pre-paid and in other places, it made the check in process quick. Here the woman who checked us in seemed suspicious of our pre pay and asked us how we wanted to pay. She then requested my paperwork and spent a good 10 minutes looking over it. She wound up keeping it. We asked for a first floor room as there was no elevator. She didn't have one so we took the double on the first floor. We were located between 2 long term stays.
When I went out to get coffee ( no pot in the room)the next morning there were only 3 guest cars in the lot, ours and the one's on either side of us. The other side of the motel which looked to have first floor rooms had only 1 car parked.
This is the first review I have ever written that was not totally positive. As it was a short 1 night stay it was acceptable, but I can't recommend it for more than that."
"Our room had not been swept, dusted, or bathroom cleaned. There was crumbs everywhere, furniture was dusty, and mirror in bathroom was not clean and very little toilet paper. We went down to tell front desk and was told the person in charge of house cleaning had walked out and the maids did not have accountability. My husband joked about he would sweep and the desk told him they would leave a sweeper in the hall. Next day after we returned we had new towels but floor still not swept and mirror not cleaned in bathroom and we had to ask desk for toilet paper. I will not stay here again."
