"One of the nicest, cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. I come to town for regular events, so this has now become my only go-to hotel. Beautiful facility, an actually decent restaurant inside the hotel. Everything is updated and well-maintained. Staff is all friendly. I will be a regular!"
"Property and room were clean but very industrial looking in the rooms. Not much color - lots of concrete. Staff was friendly but no free coffee. Be prepared to pay $4.50 a cup. Parking is across the street in an unsecured lot and they charge for you to park overnight."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Smithfield - Providence by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"This property is excellent for short and extended stays, locally placed and easy to get on and off the highway. Plenty of eating options and just 15 minutes outside the city where you can enjoy trees, walks, and nature."
"We checked in very late; the staff were helpful; our room was ready, clean, and very spacious. The airport shuttle was seamless; overall the stay was excellent; we would recommend the hotel to others and would stay again if in the area."
"Tldr. Maybe stay Thursday into Friday. Wouldn't recommend Sunday into Monday.
Honestly two very different experiences. Went there on a Sunday night and a Thursday night of the same week. Pit stop up to Maine.
Sunday night was.. sketchy. Kids in the pool unsupervised (for hours btw), weird guys watching people swim, random spills on the floors that looked liked blood but was probably... Juice? Breakfast was not great. Eggs were way overcooked, sausage was bad. Waffle maches weren't working. Just... Not great.
Thursday night was.. surprising better! No unsupervised kids in the pool. No creepy guys watching people swim. No random spills on the flood. Same staff at the front counter but noticed not the same housekeeping or breakfast people. This staff seemed way more on top of it. Towels were stocked in the pool area and breakfast was actually pretty good.
Kudos to whoever runs the place Thursday nights because it is a completely different hotel on Sunday nights.
I would not book this place again on a Sunday night.. maybe a Thursday night."
