"The Montmartre area around the hotel had lots of options for dining, the Moulin Rouge is within walking distance. Two Metro stations were within walking distance. The Abesses Metro station is a very long climb with many stairs (no escalators) to get to the street level. There is an elevator that holds about 10-15 people. Even people who had no apparent difficulty walking would take the elevator it was such a climb. There are several stairs even after getting off the elevator. I would advise...

We were using taxis versus metro, taxi from hotel gets an added charge but short walk down stairs to nearby taxi stand is available once you get to know the area. Metro is a longer walk.
