Great stay. It is a unique and beautiful property at the heart of the old city. Easy access to most of the tourist sites. The room is perhaps a bit sparse against the price, but you're paying for the art and a great view out over the ocean.

Very Instagram friendly location with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast with an amazing view. Architecture is organic - but to hide sloppy construction, rooms are filthy with stained blankets, trickle of water in bath, stinky, and definitely use that mosquito net!

目の前は海で波音で目覚め、夜でも海をバックにプールで泳げる。日が沈むのも正面。それを見ながらの朝食や、美味しい夕食にカクテルまで満喫出来る。 スタッフは親切で感じが良く、出来る限りのことは対応してくれる。 近くには官庁等もあり、落ち着いていて安全な雰囲気。中心街も近く、歩いて行ける。 ホテルの水回りは悪くないが、朝トイレ以外の水が全て止まっていることは何回かあった。ホテルがあえて止めている様で、話すと20分後くらいには出る様にしてくれる。

prachtig bijzonder vormgegeven hotel. vriendelijk personeel, gastvrij, mooi uitzicht, goede service, 2 kleine minpuntjes, toilet was op een verhoging geplaatst waardoor men haast moest springen om erop of af te komen, en alles was frans georiënteerd wat voor een Engels georiënteerde Europeaan niet altijd makkelijk is. beperkt aantal personeelsleden in het restaurant sprak een klein mondje Engels. Receptionist sprak goed Engels

We loved the architecture and the philosophy which inspired it. Would you be so kind as to let us know the name of proprietress of the hotel. She is also the architect who designed it. She lives on the property. We want so much to write her a personal letter expressing our admiration for her innovative concepts in designing such a welcoming atmosphere.

Un hôtel avec une belle vue sur la mer et une architecture très originale. Prendre une chambre avec vue sur mer, les autres chambres donnant sur un patio qui peut s'avérer bruyant.Les équipements ne sont pas tout neufs mais on apprécie le calme de cet endroit, surtout pendant les jours de semaine. Le quartier du Plateau est très calme le week end car c'est un quartier d’administrations.Piscine permettant de faire des longueurs.

Simply unique

Fabulous, uniquely designed hotel, the product of one woman's 6 years of hard work sculpting the place by hand. The walls, furniture, rooms are all designed in an architectural style that's hard to define - Neo-tropical? Beaux-Arts Moroccan? I don't know, but it's all fabulous. The manager Isabelle is a wonderful host, the Cap-Verdean barmen Jean-Marc (I think that was his name) makes his own Bissap and Bouye, the views from the terrace and pool area are stunning. Unless you want some faceless corporate hotel, this is the best place to stay in Dakar.

Prachtig hotel aan zee in Dakar

Je moet er van houden, maar prachtig over-the-top art deco hotel met schitterend zwembad en terras aan zee, vooral schitterend bij zonsondergang. Prima Libaees eten, maar rest keuken is minder. Neem wel een zeezicht kamer, is zeker extra geld waard tov patio kamer.

le grand plus de l'hôtel c'est sa situation face mer, superbe, et son personnel de salle. Par contre, l'hôtel est franchement trop bizarre, et le tour au détriment du confort. En ce qui me concerne, chambre coté rue, donnant sur une immense salle. Les fenêtres ne filtrent aucun bruit. Il suffit que quelqu'un parle pour être réveillé. Un essai qui ne se renouvellera pas en ce qui me concerne.

Terrible Value for Money

Hotel Sokhamon was hands-down the worst value for the money I've spent on a hotel. It had many great aspects, though! STAY FOR: The hotel is walking distance to Dakar center and has beautiful, unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean to Dakar's west. It's bar/restaurant was always lively before sunset. The design and architecture were the most unique I've seen in a hotel. The staff was very friendly. DON'T STAY FOR: It was nearly impossible to get an internet/WiFi connection inside or outside, and was slow when successful. The hotel is dusty, unkept, and empty; there were two other guests during our stay. After being harassed by mosquitoes for two nights, we asked for a mosquito net for the third night, which a friend had in his room - didn't happen. There's no concierge - the hotels.com page is inaccurate - and you'll have to find your own good time (without WiFi) and ask to use the hotel's phone. The hotels.com profile says that the airport shuttle is 10.000 CFA per person; we three paid 35.000 CFA. We booked a return with a taxi for 21.000 CFA. The hotel restaurant ran out of breakfast the first morning we stayed - we asked why our earlier arriving friend received a larger breakfast, were reluctantly served more items after our query, and noted that a later arriving couple left angrily because no breakfast remained for them. OVERALL: At nearly $200/night for a sea view room, we unreservedly recommend looking elsewhere for your accommodations in Dakar.
