"I'm used to 3 star hotels. This hotel is truly 4 star. The cleanliness, the staff and our very affordable ocean view suite with spectacular views of Mt. Etna, the Straits of Messina, and sunsets was wonderful. The robes and slippers is a nice perk. The hotel location is a few minutes walk to the high speed ferry to Messina, Sicily and a few minutes walk to the Lido train station. The hotel is convenient to the Lungomare waterfront and the famous Archeological Museum as well as several art galleries and shopping. All less than 10 minutes away by walking. Bocconissimo, the fabulous hotel restaurant, is open for a full buffet breakfast 7-10 am and dinner from 7:30-10 pm with a spectacular menu from delicious pizza to scrumptious pasta dishes, all with no salt and pepper needed, like some restaurants in Italy I've experienced. The downside to this hotel is the surroundings which were devastated by storm Harry in January. The city is working hard to restore the waterfront. However,don't miss this one!!!"

"This hotel is a total dump. Rooms are outright unsafe and full of black mold. Missing and loose floor boards are a tripping hazard. Does not look anything like the photos in the Expedia listing and booking info. Massively overpriced, old and falling apart literally. "

"The only air conditioner was in the bedroom. The rest of the place was hot unless I blasted it in the bedroom. There was no internet. I complained every day, and every day they had a different excuse. They had a restaurant where I ate for dinner, but refused to serve me breakfast because I wasn't staying in the right rooms that were allowed to eat there. I couldn't even BUY a breakfast. I could only purchase some breads from the one small table. But the beach was nice."
