"Excellent lake view and convenient car parking"

"We have stayed at the Riverside hotel a few times. Not been for about 8 years but had a one night stay on the 9th May. It has been one of my favourite hotels but after staying this time the cleanliness has gone down hill. The family room No 3 was very dusty on skirting boards and dado rails and window sill was covered in flies. The shower room needed bleaching around the bottom of the shower. The lamp on the dressing table was extra dusty on top . These things can be put right if you got a good cleaner in. It has certainly put me off staying again. The breakfast was so nice & were the staff. A lovely clean bed but the lack of dusting in the room has let this hotel down. 😪"

"We booked room with balcony and hot tub. Room was excellent, spacious with tea/coffee facilities and bathrobes/slippers, We made use of the hot tub which was great. Staff very friendly. Breakfast choice and food great Would highly recommend this hotel."

"I had such a delightful stay! The room was spacious and clean, with a breathtaking view that added to the enjoyment. The staff were incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. I particularly appreciated the breakfast menu, which featured delicious vegan options. We made sure to reserve a table every morning. All in all, it was a truly fantastic experience!"

"Rooms require some repainting and stairwell is very dull and dark with most windows needing repair and repainting. The cocktails were fantastic though. As the restaurant closes early it would be nice to have cheese and biscuits available in the bar area in the evening "

"Warm comfortable room in lovely hotel that is walking distance from lake. House was where Beatrix Potter took holidays & she eventually bought it for her mother. Love the whimsical touches such as carpets & wallpaper. Easy private parking included. Stairs to rooms on first & second floors but staff help with luggage if needed. Dinner & breakfast at the hotel restaurant were good."
