Travel to Chinatown

As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, travelling today comes with a few extra challenges. Keep in mind the following tips before jumping on your plane to Chinatown:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking your flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll have to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to temporarily lower your mask to verify your identity.
• Instead of handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it directly on the reader yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag for X-ray screening.
• Empty your personal items from your pockets, like your wallet, coins and keys, and place them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will reduce handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to open your bag for inspection.
