"Stefan was very helpful; the homemade breakfast was delicious and the property was walking distance from downtown Charlevoix. Great place and great value!"
"We traveled as a family of three, including our 4-year-old, and overall had a comfortable stay. The hotel is located about 2–3 miles outside of downtown Charlevoix, making it a convenient and short drive to the downtown area and the beach.
The interiors have a pleasant rustic, wooden charm. It appeared that renovations were recently completed or still ongoing, as there was a noticeable fresh paint smell, and some minor details, like handwritten room numbers, reflected that transition phase.
Our room was spacious and cozy, especially with the fireplace, which added a nice touch. The bed, however, could have been more comfortable, something to consider improving for a better guest experience.
Breakfast offered the usual options. As a vegetarian, my choices were somewhat limited. I would have appreciated more hot options, such as freshly prepared oatmeal, rather than only pre-packaged instant oats. That said, there were still basics like bread, fruit, and yogurt available.
The staff was helpful throughout our stay, from check-in to housekeeping. While service was efficient, a bit more warmth and friendliness in interactions would have made the experience even more welcoming.
Overall, the hotel is a solid and comfortable option, especially for families, if accommodations closer to downtown are fully booked."
"Any thing that need to be looked into is the beads. They are out dated. They need to change out for new ones. And was trying to take a bath but I couldn’t do it. I have to work a lot. Keep on running. The plug wasn’t completely sealed. And hot tub was not hot at all"
"Breakfast was continental. Staff friendly and helpful. Older hotel. Room had a great nightlight that the hair dryer sat in.
A TV that you could easily navigate."
"The hotel was a perfect blend of nostalgia while providing updated amenities. I would highly recommend it to others. The staff was personable and professional. Two opportunities would be our room had not mini fridge or microwave and the coffee maker was in the bathroom which was inconvenient. Lastly the toilet was very low to the floor and difficult for my wife and I."
"This is definitely an experience. It is a step back in time with much of the original structure. It has charm and reminders of what luxury used to be. If you want modern amenities or a commercial chain of cookie cutter hotels then this might not be for you. But if you want a bed & breakfast feel with a charming staff, delicious restaurant on site and slower pace, you will really enjoy this inn. We will definitely be back."
"Everything was good the only bad thing was the WiFi goes out a lot so when that happens the tv doesn’t work and then you have to put the WiFi password in all over again just a hassle. But other than that. It was a good stay, and dog friendly!!"
"I stayed at Hotel Earl Charlevoix in May 2026. This hotel is in a perfect location to walk around the city, and the staff are very nice. At check in, I received a complementary upgrade to a room with balcony. Room was very spacious and very clean. But, here are the problems during my stay:
Water pressure was very low in room on third floor making it difficult to shower.
AC noise was very loud, and I had to turn it off.
Noise from adjacent rooms and hallway was really bad which woke me up several times at night.
Breakfast was very basic. No bread, and no hot items. Low quality stuff. Coffee tasted terrible. Cut fruit was bad and not eatable.
Rooftop bar should be nice. But , I couldn’t use during my stay because the first day they had sprayed insect control, and on the second day it was rainy.
Overall, based on my experience, I’m not sure if I can recommend this hotel with such a high nightly rate."
