"I was impressed with resort, its staff, the valet service and the restaurant food. However, I wasn't impressed with the cost of things and the room location. I paid for a room with a river view but was assigned a room overlooking the steam plant, which led my companion and I to joke all weekend about the how hot and steamy the Potamic looked. The next time I'm in the DC area I'll use some of my million plus IHG reward points and stay in a suite."

"The location of this hotel was great, very convenient. That’s where the positives of this trip end. The staff were not very helpful and seemed to have an attitude when asking if it were possible to accommodate my needs. Late check out costs extra, a conference room costs extra, coffee costs extra-no coffee maker, microwave, nor cold refrigerator were in the room. Breakfast even costs extra. Felt like I was nickeled and dimed for the most basic of requests. WiFi was spotty at best. Some of the channels available for streaming were also spotty. The walls are very thin, I was woken up by people letting their doors slam shut several times a night and by the next door neighbor at 3am engaging in adult activities. The “bathroom” in the room had a toilet that was so low it is hard for people with disabilities to use. The shower door wouldn’t close and leaked water on the floor outside of the shower. The bathroom door its self did not fully close. For a Marriott affiliated hotel I was quite disappointed by this experience. "
