"This is our 2nd stay at The Cheshire and it might be our last. The carpeting probably hasn’t been cleaned in around 10-20 years. Ok, that might be too harsh but the musty smell in the hallways and also in the rooms is more than likely due to the dirty carpets. The entire place just needs a total, thorough cleaning and some maintenance on the building. The bedframe is terrible in the rooms!! I slammed my toes and knees several times. Tip: wrap bed frame corners with pillows and/or blankets....

"Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, and good location for my plans. My only complaint was that my room was next to the indoor pool seating area and the light came in my windows and the area was straightened in the early morning with the heavy furniture moved loudly. Truly not a big deal. Just a comment if people are in that room, to wait a bit to rearrange furniture."

"I always stay at the Seven Gables Inn while visiting St. Louis - fantastic, walkable neighborhood, for central STL, including vintage shopping & dining options. The boutique hotel is very ‘Old St. Louis’ with extremely modern, comfortable, quiet and safe rooms."

"We had to go to 3 different rooms to find one that did not have a terrible smell when we checked in. Then they had a sign at breakfast about offering alternatives for food allergies but it took 3 days for them to get gluten free bread. Then the streaming service went out for the whole hotel, then the internet went out for the whole hotel, (this was all out for days) then one day we needed new towels and toilet paper but apparently you can’t get service except on certain days so you are kinda...

"Room was disgusting. Staff literally was answering their personal phones (at least 3 different times) while helping people. It smelled atrocious. Mattresses has giant stains on them. Mattresses had crumbs on them. The floor was sticky. No way the mini fridge has ever been cleaned.. stains everywhere."
