great location. great breakfast great room. go for junior suite. great value and lift. and very unusual to go down to rooms and up to reception. great views
Great location, walk to sites and restaurants. Included breakfast starts a bit late if you’re traveling. Our room was a bit noisy at night due to location by stairs from lobby and a smoking patio below our window.
Great staff, very comfortable bed, and hot, powerful shower. Nice view, easy parking and walkable around town. Breakfast OK, and the place deserves a refurbishment maintaining the cool retro aspects.
This was an older property with quaint charm on a high bluff with wonderful views of the water. We really liked this hotel and would definitely stay there again. Comfortable beds, decent quality linens, nice breakfast and good value for money. No elevator but someone on hand to carry bags.
If you are staying in Castro, this might be a good choice. It's an interesting building built into a hillside with views of the harbour. The building was well designed but it's a little bit tired now. Staff were reasonably helpful. There was parking off the street and secure. Right in the downtown, an easy walk to restaurants, stores, the Mercado, etc.
Overall, a very good hotel. We like the location and the staff. We have extended our stay here but 2 more nights, but in a bigger room, with a view.
Parking was inadequate, and it didn't help that everyday, there are at least one imbecile who would take up more than one space. They do have a lower lot, but it's not easy to get in and out of it.
The breakfast buffet is very nice.
We originally booked 3 nights, and we're in the old wing. Then, we extended for 2 more nights and stayed in the newer wing, for US$30 more per night. Totally worth it!!! What a view!!! We could just watch the wild life and sunrise from our sofa. The newer wing has an elevator and bigger rooms. Highly recommended!
We booked a room with lake view in the newer section of the hotel. Room size was good but not the room condition. Some cracks and worn out flooring planks which could trip you if you were not careful. Mildew smell in room and bathroom. Room was quite warm as there’s no air conditioning. Bugs flew into room when opening window for fresh air. Towels were old and some were torn. Breakfast was poor with limited hot food and lack of quality and variety. Location was good though but we still would not recommend this hotel to anyone if you have other choices in the area.
Wonderful location, secure parking and super friendly staff.
Walking distance to all the sights of Castro. Warning if you plan to arrive into Castro after 6pm the traffic is dreadful!!
Great hotel. Good location. Good restaurant. Clean and spacious room.
Only downside is ambience music it seems their only playlist is lounge version of lld rockhits.
The staff were rude, the hotel is very noisy, rooms are tiny, breakfast is insufficiently catered for with not even salt on the tables let alone a glass or a serviet. Don't go!
Beautiful architecture that has been left to crumble. The entire hotel needs an overhaul. Room are small, uncomfortable and outdated. Strong sewage smell in bathroom that could not be rectified. Noisy inside and outside of the hotel so you could not leave the windows open at night and there is no air conditioning.
