The hotel is as advertised, nicely designed and well located. They make clear there is no on-site parking. The staff are friendly but many seemed not to be well trained. We arrived on 6/26 just before 4. Check in is 3:30. At reception a guest was waiting. She said she had arrived at 3 and was told her room was not ready – fair enough – so now she was back. No staff were in evidence. I rang a ship’s bell on the wall and went to the restroom. When I returned, my wife and this guest were still standing there waiting. I opened a door behind the check-in desk. Two women working on a computer and talking. I said “you have customers out here,” they hardly looked up, said “we know, someone will help you.” Eventually someone came and helped us check in. She had offered the guest ahead of us a glass of wine but not us. I asked about that and she quickly poured us 2 glasses. Our room wasn’t ready, even though it was well past check-in. After we had our wine, I went back to ask about the room and she offered to check. It was ready but I don’t think she ever would have checked and let us know if I had not asked. She did ask if we wanted help with our bags (no elevator). I said yes and she called to a guy who I heard answer but he never appeared so we carried our own bags.
