"Great hotel "

"We had a great stay at the holiday inn Carlsbad. We were met right away with very friendly staff and a well kept lobby. Our room was clean and set up like you’d expect. We used the pool and hot tub and I was happy it was heated and clean."

"Extremely helpful and attentive staff. They were responsive to all of our needs."

"Two staff members were great. the young lady that checked me in (I didn't get her name) and the night clerk, Jeremy. There was not any soap, coffee, or tea in the room. Nor were there any cups. the TV didn't work at all and the wi-fi was very spotty. The middle aged gentleman who checked me out said we would be getting a discount for our inconvenience however our card was charged the full amount. This is the first time I've had a problem while staying here. In the past, I have had excellent service."

"Fairly pleasant stay, other than the facility seeming slightly outdated, especially in the bathroom where the shower stall has what appeared to be mold spots and the drain floor being cracked. Oh and the bedding and towels didn’t have that fresh clean smell, that’s why I gave the good rating and not excellent!"

"The breakfast had hot options, but they were just basic. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, and the pillows were flat. The key card machine was broke the whole time we were there, so we had to ask the front desk person to unlock our room anytime we left and came back. For breakfast we would put the deadbolt on the door and just hope no one decided to enter our room. We ate pretty early, and the room was not too far away, so this didn’t concern us too much. It is close to the National Park and was safe . You could hear the traffic outside since it’s on the main road."

"Black mold in the ceiling of the bathroom and a toilet that leaks everything you flush. The carpet looked ill is the best way to describe it."
