"Charming hotel with very accommodating staff. We were able to check in early. Thank you. Our room in the older section of the hotel needed some TLC - vinyl floor in the bathroom in particular. Nice, full breakfast"

"Breakfast was good and the lady tending it was very sweet. Front desk staff was very rude. Pretty bad first impression. Also — really looking forward to the hot tub and but again front desk staff had no idea what I was talking about despite it being listed as an amenity on the website. Kinda rots after a long hike on Hadrians wall. Carpeting throughout was old, outdated, and very grungie. Overall, very mid."

"The property is located right next to the railway station. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good. I booked a single, however an upgrade to a double on the first floor as the life was out of order. Two short flights of stairs I can manage that with my condition. However if your wheelchair bound it’s not for you or mobility is restricted till of course the lift is repaired. It dose state this when you book and the hotel will accommodate you if you can manage the stairs. Reception are is...

"Lovely spacious place, very clean, nice staff, well priced, lovely room. My only gripe would be no curtain in the bathroom window, which looks into houses, but overall we liked it."

"Close to the town centre"

"Nice hotel at great value. We had a 1 night stay with our dog and were very comfortable."

"This is the second time I have stayed at the Halston and it never fails to impress. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. It is like having your own apartment."

"Great parking. We didn’t realise when we booked that the pub would shut at 8 pm on the Sunday which was disappointing but they gave us a key to enter the building and to come and go as we wanted. The bedroom was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice."

"Fabulous room filled with thoughtful touches from bathrobes thru to fans - with every detail tastefully considered for the most enjoyable guest experience."

"Room large and very clean. Lovely small hotel with a beautiful restaurant. Very quiet at night. Highly recommended "

"Decent sized double room with better than usual lighting! Really comfortable bed and good shower, albeit on the small side! Off road free parking is always a bonus and they do a full breakfast if required! Everyone very friendly!!"

"Staff were excellent. Very nice outside area to eat in summer ! You must book in advance. (We didn't unfortunately) Meal was excellent and good breakfast the next day. Ample parking."
