"Pulling into the hotel there was active construction, otherwise looked nice. When we checked into the room we opened the door and ( just to be clear, we are dog/pet lovers) the room smelled of dog. It was so strong and uncomfortable. Under our feet we felt dirt. We left our bags and went to the Dollar General bought cleaning supplies including a mop, went back and spent one hour cleaning the room. Four times had to dry swift then mop and it was filthy!! "My husband and I stayed here for the weekend with our two children. It was quiet, and pretty clean. You could tell they are still in the process of making improvements to the place. But for the price we paid, it was better than expected. We also really only needed a place to shower and sleep the rest of the time we were on the beach or at the park across the street. "Front desk guys were rude. No elevators i had my cart ,told them I have cancer and a bad back how am I gonna get the cart upstairs and they shrugged their shoulders. Do rude. They soldered the bathtub stopper so u can't pull it up or down and take a bath, only a shower. The washer destroyed my clothes and stole 8$ of my quarters and they said they had nothing to do with the washer and dryer! And pool was about the size of a kiddy pool. Not worth the price. "Very friendly people at the front desk. Nice location for walking to a few restaurants that are really great and coffee shop as well! Has a rinse station/shower so you don't have to wait your turn in line at the one at the beach. It is not exactly beachfront, but it is a quick walk to the beach access which is right next to Surf's Up Grill. We enjoyed our stay!"
