"Carmen and Alicia are excellent hosts. They are incredibly welcoming and gave great dining and site seeing recommendations. All their rooms have private baths which are extremely clean. "(Hostel in Portbou) A basic hostel. 3/5. The room was quite tidy. There were hairs in the shared wc+shower, otherwise quite tidy. The beds were ok (springmadrass), the beddings were quite sheer and had quite strong smell (due to washing powder?). The walls let through all noises from outside and other rooms. The room&house had a stale smell. The receptionists spoke rather good english. The breakfast included 2 toasts, croissant and warm drink."

"Excellent food both at breakfast and in the lovely restaurant. Both rooms have incredible sea views which we greatly appreciated. The spa and the outdoor therapy pool were nicely appointed. Our massages were arranged on our arrival and were perfect. We were there on cool overcast days so we didn’t take advantage of the beach directly across from the hotel. But it was tempting. They made us and our dogs welcome and we truly enjoyed our stay at La Elmes. "
