Wonderful staff of this river lodge bordering Kruger National Park. Large spacious room. Great sunrise and day safaris from their own staff. Sunset safari is run by the National Park so needs transport to Kruger Gate if you don’t have your own vehicle. Couple of things could be improved. Firstly, the wi-fi could be faster. Secondly, windows should be kept closed to prevent mosquitoes from entering rooms since it’s a malaria area. Overall, a lovely stay to see Kruger National Park and its animals. An elephant was along the river the first afternoon while a hippo was along the river on my morning departure. You’re also see animals while arriving and leaving SZK airport.

Location location location

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. All the hotel staff could not do enough for you, the room was lovely, and the food was well prepared and tasty. The location is what sells it for us, right on the banks of the Sabie River and 20 minutes drive from Paul Kruger Gate and entry into the wonderful Kruger Park. We would happily stay here again.

Great place just outside Kruger at a reasonable price! No complaints at all, was exactly what we expected as a base to go into Kruger. Friendly staff and a plesant environment!

Lovely riverfront setting with hippos.

We had a great stay. The property looks over the Sabie River and has a family of resident hippos to entertain you. The staff were friendly and Lucas in particular went above and beyond when my hire car had a puncture in a tyre and he went with me, after his shift finished,to the tyre repair place and helped me to get it fixed. I thoroughly recommend the lodge for providing the ambience and great setting of the really expensive luxury lodges but at a fraction of the price.

This is a magnificently situated lodge, with wonderful views over the Sabie River to the Kruger. We had elephant, hippos and otters entertaining us. The staff are wonderful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay so much. Lodge where so easy to be and we felt our self very safe also. Everywhere where very clean and a hole place where decorated very cosy. Staff where so friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast where very excelent and dinner also. Remember to have vines, they where so good. We had lucky to see 9 elephant in a backyard and 2 hippos. Really good and perfect for us!We needed to be close to an airport and Kruger Park for safari, so that we could fly in, go safari, fly out without long drives as our time was restricted. So this was perfect. It is only ~30 mins from Skukuza airport and also 30min drive to Paul Kruger Gate, entrance to Kruger Park. It is a 3star accommodation but it is super-nice.We stayed in the Luxury Cabin overlooking the Sabie River. It has 2 bedrooms,sitting room,really nicely tiled bathroom, and a fantastic porch to sit and watch the wildlife on the river-a family of hippos was daily viewing and a crocodile sunning on the river bank. There is also a decked area for all guests with small swimming pool, overlooking the river. Again perfect for watching wildlife on the river while enjoying a cold drink! Lovely grounds and gardens meticulously cared for. Very friendly, helpful staff. The bar is nice with satelite TV to show sports- eg Premier league and European football.We were halfboard, breakfast very good (full English, omelette) and dinner also very good and varied each night.They arrange safari for an extra cost (amount very reasonable compared to other places). And the safari guides were great, really knowledgeable and keen to maximise our experience. We saw all the big 5 on the first day-even leopard which is difficult at the best of times. And Skukuza Airport is actually in Kruger Park.So safari starts from pick up at airport as you go to Sabie River Lodge! Highly recommended!

An enjoyable stay with super friendly staff

The highlights of our stay here were the incredibly friendly staff and the generous food options. The service was akin to 5 star hotels - attentive, thoughtful and friendly. The food was plentiful and it was nice to have choices for dinner and breakfast. The room was suitable for our needs for a few nights and very clean and tidy.

I found the management advertising decietful..the say book now and pay later then when you book they engage a company called "paybridge"to deduct 50%of the booking.from credit card without any reference to the sabie R/L.also the food is substandard and menu without prices..the tent that we stayed in had no clothes hanging facilities..this review will be posted to other websites..

O hotel é incrível! A vista do restaurante e piscina para o Kruger vale por toda a experiência. A equipe é incrível, super atenciosos e gentis, desde a recepção até os guias do Safari. Destaco Kabelo, um dos garçons, que sempre nos recebia com sorrisos e simpatia. Fechamos os safáris com o próprio hotel e foi a melhor opção possível! A comida também é bem gostosa. Fomos muito recebidos, chegamos tarde no hotel, estavam jos esperando e prepararam um jantar. Aconchegante o local, vista oara o rio e as vezes é possibel avistar animais. Faço uma observação, ficamos 3 dias sem insternet, nos quartos nao twm tv. Foi bem desagradavel, ppis apesa da reclamação nao foi resolvido.

La localisation parfaite pour faire des safaris. Notre guide France a été exemplaire pour nous faire profiter de sa grande expérience et a été très prévenant. Abbiamo alloggiato due sere in due lodge diversi perché in due date diverse. Due camere con un salotto enorme e terrazza vista fiume Kruger eccezionale. La ciliegia sulla torta sarebbe stata vedere da lì degli animali ed invece un ippopotamo si è mimetizzato subito. Avrei gradito trovare un piccolo frigorifero nella zona caffè e che i condizionatori fossero stati meno rumorosi ma la cosa non ha rovinato nulla e ci tornerei anche subito. Colazione e cena semplici ma buoni. Personale cortese e mai invadente. Si capisce che i proprietari ci tengono molto e lo curano con passione. Bravi continuate così e regalate un sogno ad vostri clienti.
