If you go onholiday to Buch, a little town in Bavaria, you'll discover fascinating points of interest such as the Church of St Valentin.
Buch is believed to date from the Middle Ages which means there are a lot of historical landmarks to see as you wander through the historic old town. One of the most impressive is theChurch of St Valentin, built in the late 18th century in the old churchyard. As well as traditional services there are also frequent concerts you can go to. TheChapel in the Churchyardis another place of interest because of its design in the Neobaroque style. Go along Untere Strasse (Untere Street) in the centre of the town during your trip and you'll see one of the oldest streets in Buch. It's a typical Fugger weaver colony which grew up around the time of the 16th century. TheOld Breweryis today another of the attractions. Enjoy regional home cooking in the old half-timbered house which is furnished in the traditional style using a great deal of wood. You can also find out about the art of traditional brewing from the exhibits and pictures in the little brewery next door.
There are some trails round Buch where you can have a great walk or cycle ride. One particularly attractive path you can explore during amini-breakis theWallenhauser Weg path. It takes you past the nearby woods where you can see animals like deer, and by meadows and little streams. During your short trip you can also walk the five mile path to Illertissen and while you're there visit Vöhlinschloss Castleand other sights. There has been a castle on the site of Vöhlinschloss since the 12th century, though it has undergone many changes since then. It now houses two museums with exhibits on the history and development of the region. The castle also hosts cultural events such as concerts and theatrical performances especially in the summer. If you're happy on horseback that's another way you can explore the area.
The mini-golf is an attraction if you’re on holiday with the whole family: you can all do a bit of putting on the 18-hole course. As well as this the region has some riding schools offering lessons and pony trekking for adults and children.
