Traditional stylish hotel with great staff

One of the declining number of traditional 3/4 star village/small town hotels that are being replaced by the bland massive chains The staff were brilliant, especially Head Waitor Luc who was charming, interesting and very helpful. The village with its castle is very run down with a large derelict hospital, numerous closed hotels and empty shops, but still worth a visit as a stop over.

We had a great time at this property. It is a lovely old building with beautiful inner courtyards and an excellent restaurant. There is an outdoor pool which my husband took advantage of and the hotel is located next to a spa. Unfortunately the spa is closed at the moment for renovations with no date given for reopening. The bedroom was well decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bourbon L’Archambault is an interesting historical town and well worth a visit. We would gladly return to this hotel for further explorations.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE Appalling. Notified as disabled.Access is either via stairs or by exiting hotel and walkinG up the road. Relegated to an annexe, bed to high, had to lift my wife into bed. Menu limted and disgusting. Stayed 2 out of 6 nights . Left refusing to pay.

Attention lorsque vous reservez via hotels.com car le site ne montre pas la photo de toute les chambres et il y a 2 type, les chambres appart et les chambres de luxe. Je me suis fais avoir a la reservation, je pensais avoir une chalbre de luxe et au final jai eu la chambre appart de qualite mediocre pour le prix. Le personnel de l'hôtel est tres accueillant et bienveillant, particulierement le jeune du matin. La piscine est atypique et reposante. Par contre je ne recommande pas le restaurant, il est de tres mauvaise qualité, proche de cauchemar en cuisine, les plats sont mediocres pour le prix, c'est encore moins qualitatif que ce dont je me prepare quand j'ai pas de motivation. Allez au restaurant pour manger moins bien que chez soi, c'est la honte

Où sont les 4 étoiles? Expérience pénible @rewards

Joli hôtel avec un excellent restaurant, mais avec de nombreuses lacunes et problèmes (wifi ne fonctionne pas, coffre-fort sans serrure/fermeture (!), service en chambre pas complet: plus de kleenex, balais de toilette momifié de pq, rideaux décrochés, ...), douche de piscine ne fonctionne pas, etc.). Le pire a été l'attitude très déplacée concernant les nuits gratuites/rewards dont nous bénéficions pour 1 nuit: selon la reception, cela était "totalement impossible que le séjour soit deja réglé" et même en présentant la copie de la facture, on nous repond de manière agressive et en ricanant que c'est impossible et qu'il faut régler et appeler nous-mêmes Expedia! Inadmissible! Nous avons presque dû appeler la police ! Personnel du restaurant adorable. Très difficile de comprendre que cet hôtel dispose de 4 étoiles !
