We love the Eliot and stay there often. This time since I was traveling alone I chose a smaller room (usually get the deluxe suite) called the deluxe queen room. There was a stark contrast in experience. The room was fine. But that's it - fine. I could have been any random mid level hotel so I was disappointed, and the walls were thin and the rooms on either side of me had guests who were sort-of loud and I could hear one of them snoring through the wall - tho the rate was much less - so much so that I wondered why when I booked. As usual the staff was very nice. There was an issue with the wifi and the promptly sent someone up with a portable modem for me and it worked fine. So we will definitely return to the Eliot but I feel like I saw behind the velvet curtain a bit - will book the suite next time!
