"Veldig bra beliggenhet i sentrum av Bologna. De ansatte hjalp oss med det det meste, og vi fikk nydelig frokost på caféen ved siden av. Det som kunnet vært bedre var at rommet var lite, og det var dårlig ventilasjon på badet, så det ble veldig fuktig luft på rommet etter dusjing. For en leilighet i Bologna er nok dette veldig bra standard, og servicen fra verten var upåklagelig, svarte raskt på meldinger 👍"

"Our stay was wonderful, and the front desk associate was incredibly friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night because we had an early flight the next day. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready for check-in yet, but we were kindly offered breakfast while we waited. She also gave us great recommendations for nearby places to eat. The next morning, since we were leaving early, the hotel provided us with breakfast bags to take with us, which was such a thoughtful touch. We truly appreciated the excellent service and hospitality."
"We chose this location because it was near the Ducati factory and museum. The hotel was a decent place to spend the night and I would stay there again. There was a coffee shop and restaurant in the lobby. We didn't visit the coffee shop. The restaurant was fine and since we didn't want to take a taxi or uber it suited us. The food was good, not one of our favorites while in Europe. We were tired from traveling but looking back we would have made the effort to eat somewhere else since it was our only night in Bologna.
The true plus of this hotel for us was that we could walk to the Ducati museum. We arrived on a Friday night so the factory tour was not an option but my husband already has it planned for another trip. It was a bit of a walk but completely doable. The website stated the museum was closed for renovations so we were just planning on taking some photos from outside but there were people in the guard building and when we asked they said the museum was open that day so it was a nice surprise for us both.
I will add that I thought this hotel was closer to the airport than it is, fully my mistake. I mention this because we were a bit caught off guard with how to get from the airport to the hotel. There is a taxi line outside the airport which is what we ultimately decided to do. My phone was not working well upon arriving in Europe and I couldn't get in touch with the hotel to get an understanding of the shuttle. I originally planned to walk, that was not possible."
"Modern mid-range hotel in a good location for exploring the city or catching the train to other sights. It was perfect for us. Being picky, some minor maintenance is required to fix wear and tear and it seemed strange that, not just the restaurant, but also the bar was completely closed on a Sunday."
"The Carlton is a beautiful property inside, with gorgeous decor and artwork. We stayed here on two separate overnight stays in June 2026 and did not really observe the exterior. The staff were all efficient and most were quite friendly. One point to note is that there is no drinking water available in the common areas. If you’re traveling here in the summer and have to wait in line to check in once you arrive (very likely) you might wish you had brought a bottle of water along. They do have a bar on the first floor where you can buy drinks, but it was not always staffed.
The rooms are great. Our rooms only had handheld shower heads, so I suspect that’s the norm throughout.
They will hold your luggage in storage. We walked to and from the train station with our luggage in tow and found that “doable”. There weren’t any significant slopes, but the terrain is not all smooth. I wouldn’t want to push more than one piece of luggage per person. There are a lot of crowds near the train station pushing luggage. FYI.
Know that strikes are common in Italy. All manner of things we all come to take for granted might not be available when you need them. We arranged in advance with the hotel for a private car to take us to the airport on our departure day. It was expensive, but worked perfectly.
All in all, we found this to be a really nice place to stay and would happily stay here again."
"This hotel is in a great location on a side street minutes from all major sites. The roof top bar is perfect and the service is fantastic. Golio was great. Room was small, but modern and equipped with everything."
