I always feel comfortable and well cared for at Chinyonga House. I will return there each time I visit Malawi. The staff is very nice and can help you arrange transportation. The dining area can accommodate business partners or friends if you would like to invite someone to diner. It is very close to the Museum of Malawi and regional shopping districts. The guest house is also near a bus stop if you would like to visit the Malawi University of Science and Technology.
A very nice GH located in a green hilly area away from the city, very calm and peaceful. Protesa picked me up from the airport and drove to GH. Protesa also drove me to a Shoprite store to buy things (it being a Saturday evening) and arranged a masseuse including pick-up and drop-off. Isa took care of everything during my stay there and also escorted me to Museum, Mandala House, Market, and Victoria Ave area. Manager Chikondi replies to emails and arranges what's necessary. Wifi in room. While at first glance it might appear far out of civilization and transportation to city or shopping might pose an issue, it does grow on you after the first day! They will call taxis for you anytime. I will stay here again.
My stay at Chinyonga guest house was quite alright. The staff were friendly and ready to provide assistance where need be. Breakfast was delivered early on in the morning at 7 as requested. This was highly appreciated as i had early mornings. The cons, i found that the room hadnt been cleaned and the sheets had not been changed from the previous guest. The owner was very helpful and managed to rectify this quickly

Well.... i didn’t pay much and i wasn’t expecting alot. Car packing was what stood out most, it was very small
Stayed for 8 nights in the economy chalet which is a small studio with a kitchenette and fridge. The place has all the amenities that you need. Quality is good and price is very fair. The pool is very inviting and is cleaned every morning and the property has great views of Blantyre.
The location is a bit far from city center (expect USD5 for a trip) but you have Shoprite and a mall within walking distance 1.5kms only.
The staffs are very friendly and customer-oriented. On the day we arrived, due to long journey we preferred to stay in a room where we don't have to take many stairs. Mpatso helped us to switch the room. Issa and Robert have given us useful tips on how to move around the area with local transport. The breakfast provided is sumptuous. Robert cooked for us delicious chambo dinner at a very reasonable price too! The rooms are tidy and extremely comfortable (yes, we stayed there another time after our trekking Mt.Mulanje). 20mins' walk to Chichiri Mall is a relaxing exercise after meals.
The only drawback may be that you have to walk downhill for 5mins to catch a local minibus. But if you are taking taxi, it's not a problem at all.

Mixed Regrets
I love taking punts on locations which offer on paper nothing much to imagine. So was delighted however with the charm the Chinyonga district revealed on my arrival.
Sadly my overall experience at the Guesthouse was an unqualified down let with its only redeeming feature being the absolutely relentless hospitality of Isa the domestic assistant who tried his absolute best to alleviate the imperfections.
However very little could be done to assuage the erratic supply of electricity which knocks everything else out including the Wifi (limited), running water to have a shower or indeed flush the toilet. Isa and his fellow colleagues were charming and genuinely warm in delivering their service provision. I doubt if the proprietors will pass on my superlatives but hope in their standard acknowledgement of my review, they move closer to improving the basic conditions for their guests.
a little bit difficult to find. good value for money, respecting Malawian standards.

In a residential area overlooking Blantyre. Limited food menu but had my meal outside by the pool watching the sunset.Great view. Hot shower. Basic room. 45 minutes to the airport.
