I checked in just before 8:00 PM during a 33-hour road trip with the goal of getting a full night of rest.
At approximately 3:00 AM, I was awakened by a rat in my room. It was eating my dog’s food and stuffing the food inside my shoes next to the bed. This was a serious sanitation and safety issue, not a minor inconvenience. I was moved to another room, but I was unable to sleep afterward due to concern about additional rodents.
The room was also very cold upon arrival, and the overall cleanliness was concerning. The sheets and towels were visibly stained, which added to the discomfort and lack of confidence in the property’s standards.
I requested a refund. Property management did not respond to my calls or email. Corporate Guest Relations offered points toward a future stay, which I declined. They have since closed the case without issuing a refund.
What is most disappointing is how poorly this situation was handled. Finding a rat in a guest room is unacceptable, and the lack of accountability and meaningful resolution makes it worse.
Travelers should be aware of this experience when considering a stay here.
