"I had the best smoked chicken at this hotel. The room was very clean and I really liked the atmosphere."

"Great place to stay. Close to Big Bend NP. Staff here is awesome- they make you feel at home. Rooms are in "ok" shape. Price per night is very high for the room you get... But it's right near the NP... I feel the price per night should be lower- for what we paid, breakfast should also be included..."

"The establishment is quite dated and does not appear to have received any recent updates. This would be fine except that it does not match with the $500+/per night for a basic room with two queen beds. They also seemed to be understaffed for what would be an expected busy time of the year (Spring Break). There were no towels at the pool, and multiple calls from multiple guests led to no response. After about an hour, bath towels were brought out. In our room, we had 3 guests, when services came, they only made up the room for 2. The onsite restaurant was not staffed to handle basic reservations. Staff was not welcoming or friendly. "

"A beautiful view of rustic surroundings from our room and good restaurant close by. The road to get there though was 13 miles of acceptable paved surface but the final 3.1 miles was very rough unpaved dirt. "
