Place is nice and quiet. Room was clean and cozy. The location is right next to the village, it’s a 5-10 min walk, very convenient. I absolutely love that we got to bring our dog on this trip, he loved it! Owner and staff are very welcoming! Highly recommend this place!

Our stay at Arkouda House was wonderful! Check in was very easy and the manager sent us all information beforehand. Our reserved loft had a beautiful view of the lake. Room was clean and comfortable. Most importantly, pets stay for free! We had plenty of space outside to walk our dog.

We booked this hotel last minute due to an unfortunate stay at another hotel and the manager on duty Evan was such an angel. He not only let us check in early but was extremely accommodating and welcoming upon arrival. The hotel is so nice and I can’t wait to see when it’s fully done!

We reserved the family cottage with loft. The layout was great and my daughter loved the bunk beds/ cubbies to hang out in and sleep. Love that dogs can stay free. Nice bathroom. The living room area was pretty sparse, the seating was not very comfy. Walls were thin so you could hear rooms around you. Overall we were happy since it was a unique setup and clean and well located.

Staff super helpful , giving tips on what to see. It was our first trip to Big Bear. Convenience of walking distance to the villages +++++ had a great stay .

This is a new renovation which is still in progress; it will only get better! The owner was on site during our stay and could not have been more accommodating. You can tell that "pet friendly" was part of the thinking during the renovation. In fact, there was no charge to bring our golden retriever. The room is laid out very simply with a minimal amount of fabric in the furnishings. When you walked into the room it smelled like red cedar. Location is excellent with only a very short walk to town. All systems are modern and worked very efficiently.

Spacious room, no dog fee & plenty of shaded areas to chill, short walk to village. Fantastic spot. Yes, they're still finishing up a few tiings, but for the price point, you can't beat it. Owner was very responsive as well. Already booked our next stay.

The manager Jenica took such good care of us. She brought us things we needed and even offered us a cabin when our original room didn’t have enough beds. We really enjoyed our time at Arkouda Cabins. Free pet stay was a real plus!!!

Place is going through renovations but surrounding were very clean and so were the rooms. Because under renovations there was no fridge or tv available at the moment.

Staff was incredible; very responsive. The property is in the process of getting renovated; it’s going to be amazing when finished. Bathroom and bedding was spotless! Our Room needed drip coffee pot and mini fridge.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near downtown. Our room has a second floor with an open view, which made it feel bright and relaxing. My kids especially enjoyed the bunk beds—they were so excited to sleep in them! Checking in on the phone was quick and easy, which made our arrival hassle-free. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. We also appreciated the convenient parking and the nearby restaurants and attractions. We would definitely stay here again

This place has been open for two weeks, renovation is still ongoing. We really enjoyed the loft room with bunk beds and a fully air conditioned space in 90 degree weather! It's walking distance to the village, park and slopes. We visit Big Bear regularly throughout the year, we will definitely be back, and fully recommend it. Dogs stay for free!

This quaint little hidden gem will be the place to be after all renovations are complaint. We stayed just after their second weekend open. I can tell once everything is completed I would rate it all excellent!!! The staff was incredible & welcomed us back with a free nites stay to acknowledge a few of the renovation issues. Well done & great location!!! We will be back & not just for the free nite. Highly recommend!!!

Although I do believe this property will be great when it is complete, it was evident that this property is not complete. There were still a lot of construction stuff on-site. There was no check in desk. There were no amenities at all, and if we would have known that we would have stayed somewhere else. The property manager was not on property when we got there had to check in with maintenance to get a hold of her so that we could get into our room. She did try to help us and was apologizing, but there was no coffee, and when we got coffee there was no coffee pot just a french press that was not working. There was no TV (but wasn'tlisted as amenity so no biggie), but no spa, no cold plunge, no food option, no front desk as listed. The room was incomplete with needing paint as was raw wood steps in lake view room. No extra blankets for the bunk beds. Had to wait to get them. The location was awesome, and I do believe once this property is fully set up, it will be a very nice property, but for now it is NOT a complete hotel and was disappointed to not have any inclination this property was still in a construction phase.

I guess this is an old hotel that’s been renovated, and some of the work was still going on while we were there. Overall it was fine, but some stuff in the room is brand new and some is old. The walls are totally bare. Funny thing, there’s no TV! And barely any outlets, maybe two outlets for two floors. Bring your own power strip. The fireplace worked, and they left firewood for it. We didn’t see any staff at all, they just texted us the door code. Overall the place has potential. It’s quiet and close to the village but it feels like work in progress.
