"Though the building and the decor are older, this little slice of tranquility had the most important element in a hotel/motel—CLEANLINESS!!!!!!!
The unit and all public areas were immaculate!!
Clean! Clean! Clean!
And with pride. The staff there had tastefully made this little hotel absolutely charming with its quirkiness. For example, breakfast was the basics—yogurt, fruit, bread, and breakfast bars. No problem. If I want Waffle House, I will go there. However, every inch of this place was spotless. The breakfast area was like an operating room. It had a great and simple collection. It was delightful.
The staff even provided snacks readily available, modestly priced, and paid for with the honor system. A quaint feature that probably exists in few places.
I didn’t want to leave. In fact, I would like to live there.
A little out of the way if you are visiting the National Park, but so worth the drive.
Best little hotel experience I have ever had. "
"Thomas was super friendly and made check-in great! The room itself was exactly what I was looking for with my solo trip through New River Gorge. Nothing outstanding, but solid all around. Great for the cost!"
"Room was clean and comfortable. Remodel was still taking place but was not intrusive. Tamasa went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made sure our stay was pleasant."
"The complaints: the smell in our room, the lack of ice, the filtered water dispenser in the lobby didn't work. Otherwise the pool was good, the breakfast was typical hotel breakfast offerings, and the hotel was a bit outdated, but acceptable."
