"We booked this particular property because the property offered on the website a sauna, hot tub, coffee lounge, bar, restaurant but we found ourselves having to go out for a meal because the restaurant was only open on a Wednesday and after a long drive this was not what we expected to do. The sauna & hot tub were an additional charge 20€ for 30 mins. the other facilities were not up and running. We felt we had booked this stay under false pretences. I contacted Hotels.com and they assured me...

"We had the perfect stay and couldn’t have asked for a better place to base ourselves while exploring the area. The location strikes the ideal balance – remote enough to feel peaceful and secluded, yet close enough to Tourtour that you never feel isolated and can easily enjoy everything the town has to offer. The family who run the property are wonderful, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Before our arrival, I emailed asking for recommendations for local vineyards, and received a swift and helpful response, which was greatly appreciated. The property itself is spotlessly clean, full of charm, and clearly cared for with great attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We are already talking about coming back and are even considering a longer stay next time. A truly memorable experience that we would highly recommend."

"The hotel is in a lovely location. Close to all the amenities of the town. Staff seemed helpful and accomodating. The apartment suites were very well appointed and spacious. However, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness. The sofa had crumbs and hair. I requested for it to be cleaned in the morning as I had checked in late and the cleaning staff had already left for the day. I was promised that the room would be deep cleaned in the morning. However, this was not done. I had to request again for the room to be cleaned in the evening on my return from exploring the area. Apparently there were no notes on their room system re: the deep clean and so it was not done. The staff did eventually vacuum and clean the sofa....but only the sofa. At this level of accomodation, I had expected much more."

Les Jardins de l'Ermitage

"If you book at this b&b be very sure that you check in by stopping by Hotel Verdon BEFORE reaching to your destination of Les Jardins de Lermitage .. its a 5 minutes drive away in the opposite direction of where cottages are ..We did not see this instruction pre arrival and when we got there, it was a a bit of a chore to find out that theres no checking in at the cottage itself. The next day ,after going kayaking at the Gorges ,we came back and asked for more towels since we were all wet from the lake, we were told towels were not supposed to be brought to the lake - we explained that we did not bring to the lake but we did use them from coming back -now we need fresh ones for our shower !( theres only 2 of us) It was a little strange to have to explain why we needed more towels - regardless of how we use them ,i would think if guests needed towels ,by all means just give to them ? The 2 ladies that were helping us were actually very friendly and its not their fault - but whoever manage this place needs to look at the 2 things i mentioned in the review. Your cottages are very lovely so help provide the guests with a more positive experience while they stay there .We do wish you to do well !"
