The hotel itself was great, rooms were tidy and well sized. Great location across the road from Westfield Newmarket. However it was disappointing that the hotel has a policy of not enforcing or seemingly caring about its allocated mobility parking spots. As a user of a mobility card, I had booked one of the two spaces available and was provided a road cone to 'save' the space. On a couple of occasions we returned to the carpark to find someone had moved the cone and parked in the spot. One vehicle in particular was often parked in the other disability space which made any outing stressful knowing that we might come back to find no park available. When we asked about this the receptionist was unapologetic and stressed that the hotel chose not to enforce the requirement to require a mobility parking permit and could allocate the mobility spaces as they saw fit, this is out of line with the requirements of both government policy and Auckland City Council.
