"The rooms were basically one bedroom apartments, and accommodated pets (for an additional fee), both of which was great!
Front desk staff left much to be desired. Check in was OK, but could have been friendly. When I went to report issues in my room and in my mom’s room they seemed less than helpful.
Maintenance came to my room promptly to correct the issue I reported then without anyone saying anything to me the hotel charged me $30. I learned later when I called to ask about the charge they were accusing me of damaging property, promised to reverse the charge after lecturing me (wow!), and never reversed the charge.
With my mom’s room, the TV and lights didn’t work and the middle of the bed was soaked. The bed dried by the morning, after my mom laid an extra blanket on the sheet so she could sleep. Maintenance came the next day and found the TV was left unplugged and corrected her lights too.
Breakfast was free, they have a pancake machine (that undercooks the pancakes) and the coffee is gross, but the sausage was cooked properly.
Bottom line, the idea of the property is great. In practice, housekeeping probably needs a checklist to ensure everything functions properly between guests. For your sake, don’t try to fix anything yourself (just report it and hope they’ll get to it) or you may find a mystery charge on your credit card. And don’t expect much of a personality from the front desk."
"Overall it was a good stay. The property is a little run down but not to bad. You can tell its old. But for the price its worth it. Staff was great. The breakfast was nice and enjoyable. Lots to choose from. Bed was comfortable but pillows suck. "
"Very clean place inside and outside.
The person cleaning the rooms do an excellent job. Breakfast was excellent! Variety of breakfast items to choose from"
"Was a very mediocre experience. The slider to the bathroom was very difficult to open and close. My husband had to yank it open so I could get out. The light around the mirror was strobing so bad I thought I might have a seizure. Last was breakfast. I asked the front desk if dogs were allowed in the restaurant area, he said yes. We went in, were told to seat ourselves by the waitress who 100% saw our dog. We proceeded to wait 15 min to put in our order and then she says, you know dogs aren’t allowed in here. I told her she could have told us that 15 minutes ago while she watched and knew we were waiting to be served and we left. I’m a big fan of Best Westerns but I Would not go back to this one for sure."
