Travel to Altmark

With new COVID-19 safety guidelines to follow, travel looks a little different at present. Here's what you should know before you hop on that plane to Altmark:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask to verify your identity when asked.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Remove items from your pocket, such as your phone, keys and wallet, and put them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will reduce handling during the screening process.
• If you're planning to take food through the screening checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
