Arrived at 3 am and greeted by a fluent English-speaking reception desk. The entire staff was young, helpful and really went out of their way to help with sometimes unsual requests eg loaned me a jump drive when I had lost mine and needed to copy a file. The Hotel is spotless, very Euro-contemporary in decor. The rooms are relatively large, everything works and the beds are very comfortable. Great shower, great spa and great Central Asian breakfast: beautifully sliced and arranged cheeses, breads, eggs as you like them, sausages, and tea not coffee. Restaurant is good if you eat in. Be prepared for a hairy taxi ride from the airport. The freeway was designed with few exits and no way to get across. So it looks like you are driving around in circles because you have to. There is no zoning and no grid plan. Side streets are narrow, winding, only partially paved and unlit even in good neighborhoods. Houses face back-to-the-street so you feel like you're about to be ambushed but in fact, it's just a different cultural approach to city non-planning. The drivers will however try to overcharge you exorbitantly. Have your hotel or travel agency send a car to pick you up. If not, have some tenge with you, because the fare shouldn't be more than 5000t at most, even with the foreigners' up charge.

Новый отель - это супер. Что будет через год....

Ресепшн - быстро заселили, все рассказали. Возникли просьбы - помогли - молодцы. При чем это были несколько человек. Переселили в другой номер по просьбе. Завтрак "шведский стол" - не очень богатый. Официанты, к сожалению, сонные и "глухие" (в 9 утра). Ужин - очень вкусно. Официантка медленная или она одна и не успевает. Сам отель - Новый отель - не "ушатано" еще ничего. Все сделано "богато/понтово", но, к сожалению, местами "колхозно" и мое личное мнение через год будет "сыпаться"...:( Примеры: - стены лифта отбиты тканью - понт.... - раздвижные двери в каждом номере в шкафах - богато, но они уже плохо ездят....с усилием... - стол и стулья в номере "аля резные" - богато....но когда сидишь на стуле, то задвинуть под стол его не получиться....высокие ручки у стула...в принципе не задвигается.....и таких примером много Двери в номерах "картонные" - все слышно...даже то как ХОДИТ (не бегает!!) человек по коридору - рекомендация "хозяину": в таком ПОТНОВОМ отеле НЕ ДОЛЖНО БЫТЬ таких дверей. Сауна/бассеин - 10 из 10 баллов - бесплатна. Бассеин - хороший и чистый 1,7м.(кажется) Сама сауна большая и очень жаркая (есть не сильно жаркий предбанник) Персонал СПА - молодцы. Включают сауну утром сразу, а не по запросу клиента (как в некоторых отелях....а ведь ей еще надо нагрется....час). Прям РЕСПЕКТ. ИТОГ: Если мне надо будет в ближайший год приехать в Алматы я РЕКОМЕНДУЮ посетить этот отель. Если через год - скорее нет....поотваливается все....уверен....

Nice good looking hotel

Very nice looking hotel with a “feel good” lobby and nice updated room. I had an early flight so i didn’t spend a lot of time, but I was very happy with my room- it’s not walking distance to stuff in town- but it’s only about $3 to take an Uber

Excellent hotel!

Golden Mir is a new hotel established in the south part of Almaty, not far from the famous Al Farabi road and the Essanti Mall. The hotel is situated on the high grounds of the city which translates to cleaner, less polluted air. The hotel is luxurious in style and offers a Spa with Sauna, Turkish Hamam, Massage rooms and services nice gym and a good indoor pool. The hotel rooms are specious and nicely designed. Breakfast is nice and the staff is eager to please your stay in the hotel. The hotel has a great potential and I highly recommend. The hotel is situated in a residential area so a car or taxi is required to arrive to and from the hotel.
