"Worst experience ever - the room smells mouldy and me and my wife felt suffocated just from staying there for 1 hr. We tried everything, opened windows and vented for a long time but the smell keeps coming back. Note that this was the «deluxe» room!
I immediately booked a new hotel and moved for fear of our health. As the contact guy(Carlos) said he didn’t have other rooms available and couldn’t come over to help us. I have saved the entire conversation.
We filed for refund later, they lied...

"The hotel is outdated. The bathrooms need renovation. The balcony was dirty and full of bird droppings. The beds were very uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. The rooms were filled with all the noise from the hallway because the doors were gaping. At night, you could hear the screams of people returning from a party, which made it difficult to sleep."
"What a great hotel, superbly located in the old part of the city, and just 5 mins from the beach, but beautifully quiet at night!
Great friendly, relaxed-but on-it and helpful staff.
Roof terrace bar currently closed, but available to sit out on (collect your v reasonably-priced drinks at reception. Great views and the last of the daily sunshine.
Breakfast was varied and good value …and fab bean to cup turbo-charged-strength coffee machine…and a normal one too!
I’d VERY happily stay here again."
Hotel Boutique Alicante Palacete S.XVII - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely fabulous hotel very beautiful
Rustic architecture lovely old original large staircase so much character, Cosy.
The Room was big tall ceiling with balcony looking over the Alicante rustic streets, great shower. Breakfast was good in a lovely restaurant area attached to hotel but can be accessed from the street.
Lots of restaurants, so close to the beach & casino lots of bars
Buzzing area near castle definitely will stay here again"
"We stayed here in February for 7 days. The rooftop was closed all week (we had to request to go up and sit which was met with unhappy responses, even on not windy days), the pool was closed (out of season I guess, however it was no larger than a bathtub anyway, and we slept terribly the entire week due to constant noise inside and out. The room was nice, but the shower leaked all over floor everytime we used it and we had constant running water above us when the loos and showers were operating in other rooms, 24/7 keeping us awake. What a lovely sound to hear in the night of your neighbours above flushing the loo and the gushing water going across your ceiling! We were looking forward to staying here after the reviews but very dissapointed for what we paid and expected. Staff were not bothered about our experience and never asked when we checked out. "
"This is a basic hotel without any frills but contrary to a lot of other reviews on here I did not find anything bad enough not to stay. It is worn and really needs a refurb but it is clean (linens and general cleanliness - they're not afraid of a bit of bleach!) - the city centre location is good for access but can be noisy as there are some late night bars very close (I would request a room towards the rear of the hotel if you think this might be an issue). Staff are a bit meh, didn't really interact much with them except for checking in but they did what they needed to. Might not be ideal for limited mobility or wheelchair users due to it's cramped entrance/stairs configuration. Everyone else should be fine."
Hostels are a great way to stay for a lower cost, so you can save your money for sightseeing. We've heard good things about the marina and other attractions in this destination, as well as activities like shopping.
