"Hotel is lovely and it is a great location. Room was nice and clean and had everything you needed. Reception staff were friendly as were the staff in the breakfast area. "A new hotel - I stayed on the 6th floor which was clearly brand new. The hotel was very clean and a pleasant stay overall. Some teething issues in that some of the appliances were not working (microwave) as they were brand new and not used before, but I am sure these will be ironed out in due course. ..."

Alfriston is very historic and has been kept so with the avoidance of street lighting, traffic lights, etc. It has about five large pubs and maybe three tearooms plus a handful of other shops. You will definitely need a car.

We both thought that it was very picturesque. There are plenty of places to eat. There is also plenty of shops too. However we found that Alfriston was quite a narrow town and probably should be made one way.
